Landlord seminar taking place next month

Nicol & Co is hosting a free event for property landlords which is says will help them assess the choices facing the market.

For landlords the three choices are said to be: keeping things as they are and taking a wait and see approach, looking to review or refinance portfolios, or pulling out of the market altogether.

The seminar is taking place at Worcestershire on Thursday 8 December.

James Gwynne, lettings manager at Nicol & Co, said: “Landlords are facing serious challenges and have big decisions to make.

“Our landlords seminar is aimed at empowering them to make their decisions, based on an impartial and objective assessment of both the market and the financial climate.”

He will introduce the event with an overview of the market as seen by Nicol & Co, laying out the options facing landlords.

“Essentially, we believe landlords currently fall into three camps. Deciding which camp you are in, after an assessment of your own personal circumstances and medium-to-long term ambitions is crucial if you are to plan successfully.”

The event will hear from Tony Archer and Jon Roberts of accountancy firm Ormerod Rutter, on the tax implications of each scenario, and from Michael O’Brien of Home of Mortgages on funding options.

Gwynne added: “In the face of a lot of speculation at present in the economy and the housing market, we are seeking to determine ‘which camp’ our investors and landlords are in, in addition to helping empower their decisions.”

Nicol & Co’s seminar is on Thursday 8 December from 6pm at Platinum Hall, Crowle Parish Hall, Church Road, Crowle. To book a free place, contact james@nicolandco.co.uk or call 01905 675999.
