A tenant took revenge on his landlord by blowing up the property with gas after being evicted.
The blast took place at 4pm in Ponferrada, Spain, blowing off the roof and leaving debris which crushed two cars below.
According to reports the tenant turned himself in and is now in custody.
He lived alone and is said to have reacted angrily after being evicted.
The explosion caused a fire, destroying the inside of the house.
The neighbours were evacuated for several hours and firefighters were called to put out the blaze.
No injuries have been reported, though the street was filled with bricks and debris, which are still being cleared by firefighters and the police yesterday.
José Antonio Cartón, the councillor for Citizen Security of the city, has invited affected residents to contact the council.
No doubt the tenant will achieve his aim of secure accommodation and probably at zero rent; in a spanish jail!
