We look ahead to a selection of auctions taking place this week
Auction House Hull & East Yorkshire (Dee Atkinson & Harrison) – 16/03/2022
This auction features 17 lots, most of which have low guide prices under £150,000.
The cheapest lot is 8b at £25,000-£30,000, which is a ground floor apartment in Hull.
The property – Flat B, 440 Anlaby Road – was previously let for £325 per month. The auctioneer therefore suggested it would appeal to investors looking for a low value-high yield property to add to their portfolio.
The property has been refurbished and includes carpets and white goods.
At the other end of the spectrum is Lot 6, which is a commercial property in Hull with a guide price of £450,000.
Tivoli House is in the city centre and can host a selection of retail units. One unit is let at a rent of £6,500 per year, with three others being vacant.
The auctioneer said the other units could suit a range of users, while they include a large café premises which is equipped with servery and kitchen fittings. Nearby occupiers include Heron Foods, William Hill, Leeds Building Society and Ladbrokes.
Pearsons Property Auctions – 16/03/2022, 11am
Hampshire-based Pearsons’ next auction features nine properties for sale, as 11 are already sold.
Highlights include Lot 5, a two bedroom apartment in Southsea, Portsmouth, which has a guide price of £135,000.
Flat 6 at 26 Alhambra Road is situated near the seafront, and would therefore make a good buy-to-let investment according to the auctioneer.
The property offers plenty of natural night and large rooms. The internal accommodation comprises of an entrance hall, bay-fronted lounge/diner, modern fitted kitchen and bathroom, as well astwo bedrooms, both doubles.
Lot 1 is a one bedroom third floor retirement apartment in Southampton, which is situated within walking distance of Shirley High Street.
Offered for residents over the age of 60 with no forward chain, Oakley Court comprises of 24 hour emergency call system, on site manager, a communal lounge with kitchen, communal laundry room and residents parking.
The apartment comprises of a sitting/dining room, kitchen, shower room and a double bedroom.
Hollis & Morgan – 17/03/2022 - 6pm
Investors with deep pockets may be interested in Lot 6, a freehold block at Brislington, near Bristol.
12 West Town Lane, Brislington, BS4 5BN, offers yearly income of £48,500 per year in the form of five renovated flats, though it commands a guide price of £595,000.
Network Auctions (Birmingham) – 17/03/2022
The auction features a mixed use investment property at 81 Fore Street, Chudleigh, Devon, TQ13 0HT.
Lot 4 has a guide price of £120,000, while the ground floor is currently let to a hairdressing salon which started in February 2022 at £5,520 per year.
The flats were recently let but are currently vacant, while the auctioneer estimates the rental value of the flats is £500 per month each.
Another notable property going under the hammer is Lot 10, a four bedroom detached house with gardens and a garage at 9 Queens Walk, Charmouth, Bridport, Dorset, DT6 6AB.
This has a high guide price of £425,000, but it’s easy to see why, as the property is situated in a cul-de-sac close to the shops and beach. The house has been tenanted and the auctioneer said it would benefit from cosmetic refurbishment.
The home has an EPC rating of D, so investors looking to rent it out for a long period would have to make some minor upgrades to ensure they are able to issue a tenancy agreement in a few years’ time.
