Modular housebuilder ilke Homes has secured an 11-acre site in Staplehurst, Kent for the development of up to 94 factory-built homes.
Subject to planning consent, the development will deliver a mix of apartments and houses with one to four bedrooms – all of which will be made available for either affordable rent or shared ownership.
This will comprise of a 307-home development in Burgess Hill, Sussex and a 165-home development in Exmouth Junction, Exeter.
The £60m is split between £30m debt from government agency Homes England and £30m of equity from multiple new investors.
Construction output has fallen for three months in a row, with the latest monthly decline of 1.3% happening in June 2021, ONS stats show.
